Build Your Career

The project “Build Your Career” is the result of the Consortium’s desire to tackle the increasing issue of youth unemployment. During the project we will implement a Training Course based on Non Formal Education methods. The target group of the TC are youth workers, youth leaders, social workers and people who are working with unemployed people/ job seekers on a voluntary or professional basis. Young people represent a part of the population particularly affected by unemployment. Already high before the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic in Europe, the unemployment rate for under-25 years old has risen sharply as a result of containment measures in most eurozone countries, leading to an unemployment rate of 8.3% and 17.2% for young people aged between 15 and 24 years old in February 2021. The gap between the lowest and highest youth unemployment rates in the project partner countries is significant (Romania 16.0% and Spain 39.6%, Eurostat in February 2021). It should be noted that the figures currently given by Eurostat do not fully consider the impact of Covid-19 on the labour market for new entrants. Therefore, despite the mobilization and support provided by the European Union, the economic forecasts are relatively negative as to the improvement of the youth employment situation in the coming months.
