Target Groups
The main objective of the training is to equip youth workers with knowledge and tools that will help them meet the problems faced by youth aged 15-30, (volunteers, students from partner organizations) hate and disinformation, how to deal with these phenomena
Project Activities
According to the mutual initiative of youth workers from Romania, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Spain, and Bulgaria, we would like to implement a 7-days training course, which will take place in Roiori de Vede from 13.01.2022 to 19.01.2022 thanks to which youth workers will be equipped with such tools, knowledge, and competencies that will effectively help them to meet the problems faced by young Internet users (young people aged 15-30 years), i.e. hate and disinformation (how to deal with these phenomena). The training relates to the exchange of good practices between participants and is based on the principle of learning from each other. During the 7-days training, youth workers from Romania, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Spain, and Bulgaria will have an opportunity to exchange good practices related to hate speech (mechanisms of its formation and methods of combating it) in partner countries. Moreover, participants of the training will broaden their knowledge about disinformation and critical thinking. They will find out how to recognize different types of disinformation and identify its popular techniques. Moreover, they will discuss Human Rights, improve their skills in creating Erasmus + Youth Exchange applications, and will also deepen their knowledge of fake news and proper selection of messages contained on the Internet. In addition, the training will also use methods of non-formal education, such as word cafe on hate, workshops about disinformation and critical thinking, workshops about cyberbullying, discussions, work in mixed-nationality groups, workshops on creating youth exchange projects within the Erasmus + program. During the last day of the training will take place the online discussion panel ” No more hate!” in which will take part participants of the training, teachers, youth workers, youth, interested inhabitants of Roiori de Vede and the neighborhood. This online meeting will contribute to the dissemination of the project results and exchanging of good practices. In the training will take part 30 youth workers from 6 organizations, from Romania, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Spain, and Bulgaria. The participants were selected on the basis of their experience related to working with young people, as well as the implementation of projects financed by the Erasmus + program. The participants come from all walks of life, both from larger cities and small towns. Participants have different experiences in working with young people and they have varied the level of knowledge about the project among them are, among others, educators, managers, students, animators, etc.
