River Quiz

The RIVER QUIZ (RQ) project has a main goal to promote education in and through sport with special focus on skills development by elaboration of a sustainable and exciting program based on water related sports. Through the efforts of 5 experienced sport organizations, RQ will: elaborate a program for education through sport with emphasis on skills development, select and test in practice at least 4 games related to water, run workshop, an information campaign. The target group consists of physical education and nature science teachers/coaches and children from 6 to 11 years of age.The concept of the RIVER QUIZ project combines two fundamental things in human life: water and movement (physical activity). Water is an essential resource on the planet Earth. It is so essential that without water, there can be no life. Luckily on our planet there is sufficient quantity of water. Nevertheless, human beings need to learn to preserve and save water sources and water supply. The sport could be used as a natural transmitter of knowledge about water. There are multilateral positive effects as a result:• Increasing the popularity of sports• Increasing the educational attainment• Increasing the environmental awarenessThe project is innovative since partnership strives to raise the role of education through sport in the name of better communities’ life with improved attitude toward water resources and water supply. The innovative aspect of the project consists in the approach to the end-beneficiaries. In order to reach them effectively and influence their personal and social development the project will implement educational methods using as a basis games. Approximately 60 members of the organizations will take part at the activities and increase capacity.
